tibetans sentenced. What`s HH Dalai Lama opinion

The Dalai Lama comments on the sentences When asked about the death sentences, the Dalai Lama expressed distrust in the Chinese courts, saying that though criminals should be punished, "all these sentences are politically motivated, so we have great reservations. The PRC as a whole is without rule of law, no independent judiciary. Everything is controlled by the party." He also stated that China is "such a big nation, acting like a child." and that "one or two persons have different views, and immediately they are in trouble with the government. No; you're a big nation. You should have more self-confidence." He also stated that moral authority is a condition of becoming a superpower, and that on this he believes China is lacking.
